Torna Wrplus !
A new free release of WRplus, 1.05 is available for download from www.wrplus.altervista.org .
As you probably already know, in early 2011 the WRplus code has been acquired by “SDR Applications” a new company in the field, so it’s going to be a commercial product with all the related benefits; in the near future a new software, which will collect the legacy of WRplus, will be available featuring a completely renewed user interface and several more options.
As this new application will not be available before September-October 2011 we at SDR Applications have decided to release another free version of WRplus; from today this “ad interim” time-limited release is downloadable.
WRplus 1.05 can be also conveniently used in combination with the new FM+ converter from Microtelecom.
Here in short the new features, modifications and corrections:
- New Fractional Resampler: as emerged in several performance tests, the original Winrad fractional down-sampler (FDS) has a poor attenuation of alias product; WRplus 1.05 feature a totally redesigned FDS with a worst-case alias attenuation of about 130 dB. Do yourself a test using the file that Leif Asbrink has kindly provided; it is available here:

Soon the above page will hopefully be updated with the test of WRplus 1.05.

This feature is offered as a partial preview of the future software capabilities.
- Extended Tuning Range: In WRplus 1.05 the range of the Tune and LO dials have been extended from 1 GHz to 2 GHz with the addition of 1 digit.
- Fixed some minor issues with RDS
- User Guide updated.
